Reflecting on receiving his scholarships, 25-year-old Callum said: “I’ve always been passionate about entrepreneurship solving problems and helping other students succeed.

“What makes these awards particularly meaningful is that they recognise the work I’ve done to support others and contribute to the University community. I’m proud that my efforts to create opportunities, celebrate others achievement’s and improve student experience have been recognised.”

Now in the final year of his BSC (Hons) Business Management degree, Callum chose Edge Hill because of the opportunities available beyond the classroom.

He said: “I knew Edge Hill would give me the chance to build strong relationships with staff and get involved i projects and initiatives that would help me develop both professionally and personally.

“The opportunities I’ve had here have helped me discover where my interest lies and what I’d like to do in the future.”

Alongside his studies, Callum has undertaken internships focused on artificial intelligence, process improvement and research, while also holding leadership roles within several student societies and supporting activities across campus.

Through his RIMES summer research internship, Callum contributed to a research project exploring how artificial intelligence could support tourism in botanical gardens.

He said: “The project brought together my interests in entrepreneurship, AI and sustainability. I was able to contribute to a national botanic database, and the research has since been included in a co-authored paper currently under consideration for publication.”

Callum’s achievements build on previous successes. In 2025 he received an Excellence Scholarship in recognition of his entrepreneurial work, across the music, business and artificial intelligence sector.

Looking ahead, Callum hopes to pursue a career in risk management or compliance while continuing his involvement in education.

Callum continued: “My experiences at Edge Hill has given me a real interest in how organisations operate and how education can create opportunities for people to succeed.
