Your offer holder day
Your exclusive invitation awaits.
As an Edge Hill offer holder, you’re invited to a special day designed just for you. Explore your course, meet your tutors and connect with future classmates. It’s your chance to picture yourself here – and start imagining the possibilities. You’ll meet expert tutors at your subject session or one-to-one drop-in. And you can chat with current students to find out more about university life. There’ll be opportunities to explore our award-winning campus and accommodation too.
What makes these events unique?
Offer holder days are different to open days. They’re more tailored to you. They are exclusively for applicants who have received an offer from Edge Hill University. It’s all about finding out about your course, and what opportunities are available to you. What really sets offer holder days apart from open days is the subject taster session and the opportunities to meet other applicants who have received an offer on the same subject area as you.
So you’ll be sitting alongside those that could be in the same course as you when you become a student here. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends before you arrive.

How do I book my offer holder day?
You will receive an exclusive invitation in the post, so keep an eye out for the invite which will be sent shortly after you receive your offer.
Find out moreFunding your studies
Don’t let study costs hold you back. If you’re a UK undergraduate student, you can apply for a tuition fee loan through your Student Finance provider. For example, if you live in England, this would be Student Finance England. So you won’t have to pay any of your tuition fees up front, depending on your eligibility.
Additionally, you may be eligible to take out a maintenance loan to assist with living costs whilst you study. This will help you to pay for things like travel, accommodation and learning materials. Visit gov.uk/studentfinance for more details.
If you decide to take out a student loan, your repayments will begin from the April after you’ve finished your course. You must be earning over the threshold amount of £25,000 and you’ll only pay 9% of your earnings above this threshold. This information may differ for those residing in Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the EU, so please check with the relevant funding provider.
Accommodation vs commuting
Another decision to make is whether you want to live in student accommodation or whether you want to commute to university. There’s lots of information below to help you figure out which living arrangement would suit you best, for courses delivered in both our Ormskirk and Manchester campuses.
If your course is delivered in Ormskirk…
On campus accommodation

Our modern accommodation options are at the heart of our vibrant campus community. And all of our halls have been designed to meet the needs of our students.
That’s why we’re 1st in the UK for accommodation (Uni Compare 2025 & 2026). And we’ve won awards for creating the Best Student Home (ASRA Awards 2024 & 2025). So you can be confident in your move.
We have more than 2,000 rooms available, with prices ranging from £93 – £155. Most students are offered a 40-week contract, from late September to early July, with an advanced rent fee of £150 required to secure your room.
Accommodation can be paid in instalments via recurring card payments, scheduled in line with Student Finance payments.
You’ll be guaranteed a room once you’ve received your offer and have made us your Firm choice
You’ll even get to choose your own room to secure the best spot on campus. Fancy a room by the lake? Or want to be more central, right by the new Students’ Union? The choice is yours. And the earlier you make us your Firm choice, the more rooms you’ll have to choose from. Our Accommodation Team will email you once you’re eligible to book your room with simple steps to follow and all the details you need to make your selection.
Commuting to Ormskirk
Our campus is easy to get to from just about anywhere. We’re close to major motorway networks and we have free car parking on campus too. And if you ride with a friend, you’re guaranteed a parking space under the Car Share Scheme.
If you opt for public transport, the EdgeLink bus (EL1) offers a free and reliable service from Ormskirk bus station straight to campus during term time. From Ormskirk train station, there’s a regular service running to and from Preston and stations in Liverpool.
Our commuter hub is located at 41 Below, in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine building, and it’s where you’ll find facilities to heat food and make hot drinks. And you can enjoy a free Commuter Breakfast every Tuesday and Thursday morning in Creative Edge, conveniently located next to the bus stop.

If your course is delivered in Manchester…
Accommodation in Manchester
If your course is delivered in Edge Hill Manchester, there are plenty of accommodation options available too, and our Accommodation Team are on hand to help you with your search and to answer any questions you may have.
When you accept your official offer of study, you may decide that you would like to live in student accommodation. For students attending our Manchester campus, student accommodation is available privately from a variety of providers covering a number of different options and price ranges. This means you’re not limited to any single building, area, or style of living. And you have the choice to select an option that suits you best.
The most important thing to think about first is your budget. Most private accommodation providers ask for an initial deposit and then they’ll take payments throughout the year. Have a think about all your costs throughout the year, including your food shop and public transport, for example.

Top tip
Connect with other students also seeking accommodation and consider “buddying up” to book accommodation together.
Top tip
Make sure your accommodation provider is reputable. Do they have a well-maintained website? Are there adequate contact details available?
Top tip
Rent prices are often higher as you get closer to the city centre. Always check the transport costs and the time it takes to reach campus.
Commuting to Edge Hill Manchester
Based at our Manchester campus, you’ll have easy access to public transport so you can travel easily and sustainably.

If catching the train is your choice…
Your closest train station is Manchester Oxford Road, which is just a five-minute walk away from your study area. Other local train stations include Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria.
If you’re using public buses…
Get to know the Manchester bee buses. These are a cheap and sustainable way to travel around Manchester, with plenty of bus stops dotted around the city to help you get to where you need to be.
If the Metro is your mode of transport…
Manchester is extremely well-linked with tramlines weaving through the city, making it easier for you to get from A to B. The nearest tram stop to campus is St Peter’s Square, which is a five-minute walk away.
What if public transport isn’t for you?
Public transport isn’t always available for everyone, depending on where you’re travelling from. So if driving is your preferred way to travel, there are many public car parks in and around Manchester that you’ll be able to access.
