Watch the magical moment when football-mad student singer, Bethany Pashley, heard her new single ringing around the ground of her hometown club.

THIS is the magical moment when a football-mad student singer heard her new single ringing around the ground of her hometown club.

Passionate Sheffield United fan Bethany Pashley, 20, was caught on camera as her song Too Far Gone boomed from the Bramall Lane PA at half-time.

While the FA Cup match with Brighton didn’t go the way Bethany would have liked – the Yorkshire side lost 5-2 – it was a day she will never forget.

Bethany, who studies BA Music Production at Edge Hill University, said: “It was crazy. I posted the video on social media and it’s already at 50,000 views on TikTok and just over 10,000 views on Facebook.

“It has been a dream for a long time to play my music at the stadium or sing on the centre spot so to achieve one of those goals was just incredible.”

The Blades fanatic, from Sheffield, shared the special moment with her mum and dad in the Tony Currie Stand and she said: “I’ve been a season ticket holder for about five years, but I have been a fan for as long as I can remember.”

Too Far Gone – “a real feel-good, fun pop song,” according to Bethany was recorded as part of a final-year project to produce an EP of original compositions.

Bethany has been singing professionally for two years and writing songs for five, gigging regularly in south Yorkshire and north Derbyshire.

So, what are her plans post-graduation?

She said: “I would love to just continue performing around the country, it’s always something I’ve wanted to do. Even travelling to other countries to perform, potentially even singing on cruise ships could be something really cool.”

And how about a combination of her two passions – football and music? A cover of Sheffield United fans’ anthemic Greasy Chip Butty Song perhaps?

She added: “That would definitely be cool.”

Edge Hill’s senior lecturer in Music Sound and Audio Production Gary Westhead said: “The team is delighted with the progress Bethany is making with her songwriting. To have her recent release played at her childhood football stadium is exciting and inspirational.”
