From 7-9 February, the Widening Access team is hosting a week of free, hybrid events designed to raise awareness and show support for care leavers, care experienced and estranged students.

At the heart of the week is a touring photographic exhibition, produced by the Unite Foundation in collaboration with care leavers, care experienced and estranged students. Through photography, it explores the experiences of these groups and, in particular, their journey through higher education.

Below are further details about the exhibition and surrounding events for the week. You are warmly invited to attend.

Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9: This is Home Photographic Exhibition – 10am – 4pm – Creative Edge

This exhibition is open to all. Visitors are welcome to drop-in and attend any time during the opening hours. Student guides will be present to offer further information about the exhibition and contribute to discussions on the topic of care experience and estrangement. There will be tea and coffee served during lunchtimes and a quiet space available for those who may wish to use it during the exhibition. No booking is required.

Tuesday 7: Diverse Voices Panel, 4.30 – 6pm – Microsoft Teams

On this panel are former Edge Hill undergraduates exploring their experiences of care and estrangement. The discussion will explore their unique experiences during their time at university and beyond.
