Are you looking for opportunities to help develop your skills, gain experience, enhance your CV and work around your degree programme? Join us at our Psychology Careers Fair to find out more about opportunities you could fit around your studies.

Students from any programme or level of study are invited to attend the Psychology Department Careers Fair on Wednesday 11 March 11am to 2pm, where you can meet a wide range of organisations from various sectors who have a variety of roles available for you to apply for to fit around your studies and when you graduate.

Advocacy Focus

The hard-working team of over 60 people at Advocacy Focus, including employees, volunteers and trustees, are all dedicated to supporting the well-being of individuals in our local community. Advocacy Focus help people live the lives they want to live by providing high quality advocacy services across the North West. Advocacy means giving a person support to have their voice heard. It is a service aimed at helping people understand their rights and express their views.

The Be Free Campaign is a youth- led mental health charity focused on providing support and resources to improve mental health and wellbeing among young people.

British Psychological Society (BPS) Student Ambassadors

As current psychology students and official representatives of the British Psychological Society, they are here to share insights into membership benefits, accreditation, career pathways, and how to make the most of your degree. Whether you are curious about becoming a psychologist or exploring different specialisms, come and have a chat. They can offer friendly advice and signpost you to valuable information.

Change Grow Live (CGL)

Change Grow Live is a health and social care charity. They provide free and confidential treatment, support and information about drug and alcohol use, smoking, homelessness, justice, probation and employment. They are a judgement-free Organisaiton whatever the circumstances of the clients that they support.

River (CGL) Liverpool

A free and confidential drug and alcohol support service for adults in Liverpool who are experiencing difficulties with substances. CGL believe everyone can make positive changes. They work with individuals, families, carers and professionals to support support that is right for them.

Emerald Cultural Institute (UK)

The opportunity to work with young people as an Activity or Welfare Leader over the summer break between 1-4 weeks within a residential setting at 1 of 4 centres. You will be working with International students aged 10-17 years who come from all over the world and take part in a programme of English classed, activities and excursions.

Hazel Tree Education

Hazel Tree Education is a specialist in education recruitment. Hazel Tree’s aim is to offer a bespoke service to nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, SEND specialist schools, independent schools, pupil referral units, and alternative provisions around the North West.

Independent Support Ltd  (ISL) – Rapid Response

ISL provide tailored services at home and in the community to enable people to reach their potential and achieve their goals. 

The Rapid Response team works alongside NHS and Healthcare partners to provide compassionate, skilled support to people experiencing a mental health crisis when it is needed most. The team  offer immediate, short-term intervention that prioritises safety, dignity through a therapeutic approach, helping people feel understood and supported during difficult times.

L’Arche Liverpool

L’Arche Liverpool is a Community of around 250 people, based Liverpool which includes around 40 people with learning disabilities, who are supported at home, and 50 people with learning disabilities who are supported in Day Services, along with volunteers, friends, families, neighbours and L’Arche assistants.

Merseyside Offender Mentoring Project

The Merseyside Offender Mentoring Project (MOMS) offers a range of support to prisoners pre and post release, from practical help to a listening ear. The project was founded in 2011 to provide support to newly released ex-offenders in the community.

West Lancashire CVS – Volunteer Centre

West Lancs CVS Volunteer Centre has recruited thousands of volunteers for hundreds of West Lancs organisations over its long history. They are part of the national network coordinated by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

The Volunteer Centre currently recruits volunteers for over 200 organisations and has a huge range of volunteering opportunities available. If you are interested in volunteering – for a few hours a month or full time – they can find something to suit you.
