The event, held on the Edge Hill University campus from 10am to 2.30pm, aims to provide attendees with all of the information that they need to effectively advise and guide care-experienced and estranged students towards and into Further Education and Higher Education.

In collaboration with our partners in the Shaping Futures network, we will be delivering presentations and workshops which will provide attendees with the opportunity to find out information relating to the following:

  • Understanding and accessing care-experienced student support in post-16 education (further education) and from charitable organisations
  • Exploring the post-16 curriculum and pathways
  • An overview of dedicated support offers for care-experienced students in Higher Education and how institutions can support you to support your students
  • Understanding the Higher Education application process, Student Finance and funding, and supporting the transition into University
  • Discussion round tables on topics such as supporting attainment, linking with Local Authority support processes, and understanding the student experience with current Further and Higher Education students.

The event is free to attend, and lunch will also be provided for all attendees.
