We are pleased to invite you to the official inauguration of the Intelligent Visual Computing (IVC) Research Centre on 8 May 2025, from 11am to 6pm. With its origin in the Cognitive Computer Vision and Machine Intelligence (CCVMI) research group and the ensuing Visual Computing Lab, the IVC Centre is a major milestone in our University’s journey of advancement in cutting-edge research in computer vision, AI, graphics, visualization and visual computing. In just three years, the Centre has generated over 50 high-impact research papers, attracted over £2.2m of external funding, and enabled productive collaborations through national and international outreach.

This public event will feature public presentations by experts, interactive demonstrations, poster sessions, and panel discussion. We are honoured to be joined by senior university management, the Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, as we celebrate this new chapter of exciting growth.

The event will feature distinguished external speakers and will be open to the public. It will also be attended by senior university leadership, including our Vice-Chancellor, Lynda Brady, and Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, George Talbot.
