Dead On The Vine Film Screening + Q&A

The Arts Centre is delighted to be hosting a screening of ‘Dead on the Vine’ followed by a Q&A with the film’s writer and director, Mark A. C. Brown.  An Edge Hill Alumni, Mark will be talking about his filmmaking journey since graduating from the University and will take questions from the audience.

About the movie: Dead on the Vine burst onto the scene with a string of accolades, taking home Best Film at indie icon Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival, and catching the eye of horror legend Brian Yuzna, who signed the film to his new label Dark Arts Entertainment.

The film swept awards at the BIFA-qualifying Unrestricted View Film Festival in London — including Best Film, Director, Actor, and Actress — and was an official selection at the Fangoria-sponsored Dead Northern Film Festival.

Synopsis: Joni and Cora are in the midst of preparing for a business saving wine-tasting on their beautiful Sussex vineyard when two men, one of whom is unconscious, appear asking for help.  All seems well at first but when the second man wakes it kicks off a whirlwind of violence and deceit that the newly formed foursome must negotiate if they are to make it through the night with their business and lives intact.

Kevin Smith on Dead on the Vine –

‘With its killer cast Dead on the Vine ferments like the libation at the centre of this clever thriller, altering the viewers perception as if they’ve quaffed a cabernet.’
