The Board of Governors is established under the Instrument and Articles of Government conferred by the Privy Council in 2007. It is the senior university authority and, since the University is an exempt charity, the Governors also act as Trustees. The University is regulated by the Office for Students (OfS) which also acts as Principal Regulator for those Universities which are exempt charities, promoting compliance by charity trustees with their legal obligations in exercising control and management of the administration of the charity.
