Our leadership courses develop the capabilities of existing and aspiring leaders in organisations, enabling them to improve performance, productivity, and deliver change. 

The courses are designed to create ‘action-centred’ leaders, with dynamic capabilities to repeatedly lead change, growth and development in organisations and their employees. They take an action-learning approach which allows SMEs to focus on their specific challenges or opportunities. The courses is delivered online, in a tutor-led, peer-to-peer format, utilising lead-edge virtual learning environment and collaboration technologies. The courses are designed to support maximum accessibility and inclusion, particularly enabling participation from people typically under-represented in management and leadership roles.

Which courses are available?

For new or aspiring managers to develop personal management capabilities and skills, including decision-making, managing team dynamics and delegation capability.

Course duration and delivery

  • Learners must complete the two stated units to achieve the CMI Level 4 Certificate.
  • Total course duration is 16 weeks.
  • Each unit is 8 weeks.
  • Weekly tutor-led sessions (3 hours) will be delivered online.
  • All course materials will also be available throughout on the Virtual Learning Environment.
  • All learners will be registered with the CMI on outset and have access to their extensive Managers.org platform for additional learning materials.

Compulsory unit 1:

Managerial Styles and Behaviours (Unit 4001v1)

This unit teaches about the skills of effective and efficient managerial styles and behaviours. The unit will assess how managerial styles and behaviours may be adapted in line with organisational objectives and expectations.

Additional unit 2:

Management and Leadership Influencing Skills (Unit 4006v1)

This unit teaches about different management and leadership influencing skills and their impact on the achievement of individual and task objectives. This unit is ideal for candidates who have an interest in developing their management skills to a higher level and promoting themselves as a leader.

Assessment and verification

The issues and topics covered on this course should be applied by the learner to meet identified personal developments needs and/or relevant continuous improvement needs of their organisation. Candidates will submit a portfolio of coursework at the end of each unit for assessment.

Course prerequisites

  • Participant learners must be age 18+.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English Language.

Tutor-led weekly sessions will take place on a specified day, 9.30am to 12.30pm.

For senior managers and leaders to develop the skills to required for making strategic decisions that support of the organisational objectives, purpose and vision, ensuring long term business growth and sustainability.

Course duration and delivery

  • Learners must complete the two stated units to achieve the CMI Level 7 Certificate.
  • Total course duration is 18 weeks.
  • The two units are 10 weeks and 8 weeks respectively.
  • Weekly tutor-led sessions (3 hours) will be delivered online.
  • All course materials will also be available throughout on the Virtual Learning Environment.
  • All learners will be registered with the CMI on outset and have access to their extensive Managers.org platform for additional learning materials.

Compulsory unit 1:

Strategic Leadership (Unit 701)

You will explore how organisational context shapes strategic leadership, including purpose, culture, systems, governance, structure and the external environment. You will critically appraise the role of the strategic leader in setting and realising organisational goals, and examine leadership theories, approaches, behaviours and skills that strengthen professional practice. The unit focuses on responding creatively to complex organisational challenges and setting sustainable strategic goals.

Additional unit 2:

Leading Strategic Change (Unit 705)

In this unit you will develop the strategic leadership capability to navigate complexity and turn organisational change into lasting impact. You will explore the drivers and types of strategic change, critically evaluate approaches to leading transformation, and understand how organisational culture, stakeholder engagement and leadership influence successful outcomes. This unit will strengthen your ability to develop credible change strategies, overcome resistance and lead people confidently through significant organisational transformation.

Assessment and verification

The issues and topics covered on this course should be applied by the learner to meet identified personal developments needs and/or relevant continuous improvement needs of their organisation. Candidates will submit a portfolio of coursework at the end of each unit for assessment.

Course prerequisites

  • Participant learners must be age 18+.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
  • Existing leadership and management experience or confirmation of a workplace senior leadership mentor.

For strategic managers and leaders, embracing AI is not just about adopting new tools or enhancing technical capabilities; it is about driving long-term value creation, fostering innovation, and ensuring resilience in an ever-evolving global landscape.

These qualifications are designed to support practising or aspiring strategic managers and leaders, accountable for setting the strategic direction of an organisation. These managers and leaders will be both technical and non-technical practitioners. Through these qualifications, learners will develop an awareness of strategic AI leadership, and develop skills to put learning into practice through strategy development and change leadership related to AI implementation.

  • Total course duration is 18 weeks.
  • The two units are 10 weeks and 8 weeks respectively.

Leading Ethically in the AI Era (Unit 735)

In this unit you develop the strategic leadership capability to lead confidently and responsibly in an AI-driven world. Explore how senior leaders can combine AI literacy and ethical governance with effective leadership behaviours to navigate complex organisational challenges, make sound strategic decisions and harness AI for competitive advantage. Strengthen your ability to lead with agility and resilience while setting and delivering sustainable strategic goals in a rapidly changing business environment.

Additional unit 2.

Leading Strategic Transformation (Unit 734)

You will explore the scope, context and drivers of strategic change for AI adoption, and critically appraise the complexity of leading change across organisations, departments, teams, people, processes and ways of working. You will evaluate theories and models for leading and managing strategic change, and apply analytical techniques and creative problem-solving to AI adoption. The unit culminates in a practical proposal to lead a strategic AI adoption change with confidence.

Managing and leading AI adoption is increasingly important for organisations seeking to improve productivity, innovate and respond to competitive pressure. This course develops the practical management and leadership capabilities to guide AI-enabled change while assessing whether adoption is feasible, affordable, and suitable for your organisation.

These qualifications are designed to support practising or aspiring managers and leaders, responsible for the operational performance of organisation or a particular function. These managers and leaders will be both technical and non-technical practitioners. Through this qualification, learners will be able to apply management and leadership approaches which support trust, engagement and effective decision making in AI-enabled environments.

  • Total course duration is 16 weeks.
  • Each unit is 8 weeks.

Management and Leadership for AI (Unit 571)

You will explore how organisational structure, governance, mission, values and ethics shape management and leadership in an AI-driven environment. You will examine management and leadership theories, styles and approaches, and how they support decision-making, stakeholder relationships, communication and a culture of trust, respect and support as AI changes roles teams and ways of working.

Additional unit 2.

AI Feasibility and Risk Governance (Unit 574)

You will assess the whole-system feasibility of AI adoption from technical infrastructure and data to economic sustainability, workforce capability and organisational readiness. You will explore the cost drivers, integration and compliance requirements, vendor dependencies, scaling readiness and escalation thresholds, and conduct feasibility and impact assessments before AI is adopted more widely.
