With over 15 years of teaching experience across the primary age range, Lisa Baggaley is a dedicated educator and passionate advocate for high-quality mathematics education. Throughout her career, she has led mathematics, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective curriculum delivery and engaging with parents and carers to foster a love of the subject.
As an Advanced Skills Maths Teacher, Lisa worked extensively across schools in Sefton, supporting the development of effective teaching practices.
In 2009, she was delighted to become an Every Child Counts Teacher Leader, working for Liverpool City Council in partnership with Edge Hill University. Through this role, she earned an MA Early Mathematics Intervention and gained the privilege of delivering training in maths interventions to schools across the UK and beyond.
Her work focuses on developing maths specialist teachers and teaching assistants, and supporting learners to build confidence and reach their full potential in mathematics. Helping learners overcome barriers and develop a belief that they can do maths is especially rewarding for her.
In her current role as Curriculum and Assessment Partners Team Manager, Lisa collaborates with leading institutions such as Oxford University, where she contributed to an EEF trial focused on mathematical reasoning, and Hope University, where she currently delivers training to support AI literacy and its effective implementation in schools.
Lisa is an active member of the Liverpool Mathematical Society, providing workshops and lectures to share her love of maths. She is also an accredited NCETM Professional Development Lead and has facilitated a research project on Oracy in Maths with the North West Maths Hub, exploring how mathematical dialogue can deepen understanding.
Driven by a belief in the transformative power of education, Lisa thrives on collaboration and is deeply committed to empowering learners, including educators, to reach their full potential.
