Edge Hill University offers exceptional courses and degree courses encompassing numerous industries. Engage fully to maximise the opportunities this will generate.

The Business School offered numerous opportunities with graduate employers encouraging students to participate and network. This was valuable because it generated several opportunities for me and encouraged me to build on what I have learned.

The Graduate Enterprise module required us to start and run our own business. This involved learning the core skills to do this successfully. The degree aimed to provide students with core transferrable skills they would need to be successful in developing their prospective careers.

I won the Student Master Chef on a Budget 2012 Competition at Edge Hill. My recipe was judged by chefs from Jamie Oliver’s restaurant. I then progressed this and applied for funding from UnLtd. to develop a social enterprise. I have been working on this ever since, using this as a platform to apply for various other opportunities.

I have learned throughout my career that there have been many opportunities. It is up to us to capture these and make the most of what they might offer. I am goal oriented and driven to succeed, motivated to continually learn and develop and inspire others. I have done so much more that I would have previously dreamed of.

I thrive on solving problems and creating solutions to challenges. I have recently travelled to Nepal, where I successfully completed the Everest Base Camp Trek and then summitted Kala Patthar, with an unobstructed view of Mount Everest.

The course and modules were structured to enable students to develop and obtain necessary transferrable skills. The Business School also strives to build a platform supporting students in their prospective graduate careers.

Leadership. Entrepreneurship. Resilience. These are the top three skills my degree helped me to obtain.

I am motivated to help and support others, making the world a better place. I am naturally curious and I want to be an ambassador for sustainability and progress.

In my current role as a Detective Constable, not a single day is the same. Having an investigative mindset and the capability to be focussed when confronted with various conflicting factors to overcome the challenges faced is essential. I work with victims, witnesses, suspect as well as numerous private and public organisations, to safeguard the public and hear their “voices” in the pursuit to finding the truth.

My career allows me to develop at my own pace. The role I am in encourages me to develop and learn continually, and from engaging with various stakeholders and training provided, enables me to learn and develop.
