The facilities provided by Edge Hill and the standard of education presented by my professors have enabled me to progress throughout my degree programme and expand my career goals beyond what I thought to be initially achievable.

I have always been interested in working with children, specifically in a mental health context. Therefore, BSc (Hons) Child & Adolescent Mental Health & Wellbeing appeared to be the ideal degree, especially to gain necessary knowledge, relevant skills, and experience required for myself to eventually become a child psychologist.

I chose to study at Edge Hill because I heard a lot of positive feedback and praise from friends and relatives. I liked the campus itself, due to its high quality appearance and relaxing atmosphere. I also liked the degree programme on offer as children’s mental health & wellbeing is offered at very few universities. I would say that the top skills I have developed are timekeeping, personal management, communication skills and confidence within myself and my academic ability.

My favourite thing about my degree is how engaging it is, I thoroughly enjoy class discussion and debate, and I can do so often. As well as the assignments, I highly enjoy the subject matter/topics of the essays I write. All of my lectures, seminars and practical sessions have been highly enjoyable and engaging, each aspect of my degree has been memorable.

The best thing about Edge Hill to me is the high standard of teaching and education it has provided me. My favourite place on campus is the library as it has a relaxing atmosphere and great facilities, which make it the ideal environment for me to begin my assignments. The facilities provided by Edge Hill and the standard of education presented by my professors have enabled me to progress throughout my degree programme and expand my career goals beyond what I thought to be initially achievable.

When I graduate I hope to work as a child psychologist, specifically, a forensic child psychologist.

Child & Adolescent Mental Health & Wellbeing is a highly informative, beneficial course, and I would encourage anyone to enrol. However, beginning university can be a daunting experience, so I highly suggest seeking support from the tutors about assignments.
