Biography

I’ve spent my career in the public sector, with roles in the NHS, the Health and Safety Executive, and the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate before joining the Environment Agency (EA) in 2016. In April 2024 I became the EAs first Chief Regulator, leading on efforts to deliver modern, future-focused, and effective regulation across all our activities.

I have been on the Board of Governors as an Independent Governor since September 2021 and am the Lead Governor for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. In 2025 I was named in the ENDS Power List.
