I chose to study at Edge Hill for the beautiful campus and outstanding accommodation. Edge Hill University truly is a place to call home.

I have always been passionate about working alongside children and this was reaffirmed during my first summer abroad at a children’s camp in America. When I graduate, I hope to work abroad as a children’s holiday club representative.

I chose the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree as it offers a generalised overview of childcare and leads to many different career path options. I knew what career I wanted to pursue but needed the qualification to get me there.

I chose to study at Edge Hill for the beautiful campus and outstanding accommodation. After my first visit I knew it was the place I wanted to call home.

The top three skills I have developed during my degree are flexibility, perseverance and teamwork. The favourite thing about my degree subject is the variety of assessment methods.

The best thing about being at Edge Hill University has been the opportunity to thrive through optional opportunities such as study abroad and with my degree the optional Graduate Practitioner Certificate which is a free additional qualification.

There is constant support available through meeting with your assigned personal tutor as well as designated teams that are always happy to help throughout campus such as careers and wellbeing.

The most memorable moment of my degree so far is the friendships I have built both inside and outside of my course. My favourite place on campus is the Catalyst – it’s a great place for studying and the rooftop gardens are very relaxing to visit on a nice day.

Edge Hill University truly is a place to call home. Outside of academic study there are so many societies to join and events such as Saturday Social with the Campus Connectors alongside trips to places such as Ikea. One of my favourite moments outside of my degree was when we had heavy snow one weekday evening which turned into a campus snowball fight. It was so fun seeing everyone gather to join in, it felt like everyone was truly connected in that moment.

For anyone considering studying early childhood studies, my advice would be to go for it! Don’t be afraid to ask questions, talk to current students if you get the opportunity and attend offer holder days to get a feel for the course through your taster session.
