My experience as a student at Edge Hill was amazing. I chose to study this subject as I wanted to better myself and my career by gaining a degree in an industry that I enjoyed. I was offered the chance to do this at Edge Hill by completing a Fastrack course.

I had the best tutors to gain valuable knowledge from. My favourite thing about studying at Edge Hill was the tutors who helped me gain skills in the finance industry. I was inspired by learning how far my tutors had progressed in their careers. I have also gained life skills in areas such as time management, which has contributed massively to my career as I work in a field where time management is essential.

Coming in from Fastrack, I hadn’t done much academic study for 7 years. I was worried that I might struggle with the writing and studying for exams. However, Edge Hill has supported me greatly, and the tutors have guided me on anything that I was worried about. During the lectures, or before and after lessons, they took the time out of their days to ensure that I had enough tutoring and resources to complete any tasks given to me.

Throughout my time at Edge Hill I was able to improve my team working skills, which has given me a considerable advantage in my career. I enjoyed the team exercise in my Taxation module, where me and two of my friends completed a tax consultation. I have also developed my capabilities in essay writing through tutor feedback, which has helped me now in my career where I need to write reports.

I would recommend this industry to anyone who is interested in it, as there are so many different sectors that you can work in. Each day presents a new challenge, which keeps me busy. Through studying at Edge Hill, I have gained knowledge in every field of accounting. My main tip would be to throw yourself into everything presented and make the most of your Edge Hill experience. I learned you get out what you put in, every student will have all the resources needed to succeed.

Edge Hill is a highly rated university, and the rating is deserved. I would not be in the career that I am in without Edge Hill. I have had opportunities to better myself and my CV. My goal is to become ATT & CTA qualified in the upcoming years, and to progress in my career at CBTax.
