Biography

Iain Nash is a Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Technology Law at Edge Hill University, and Programme Director of the LLM in Artificial Intelligence, Digital and Cyber Law. His research focuses on the legal and regulatory dimensions of cybersecurity, data protection, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence.

Iain has published widely in leading law and technology journals, addressing topics such as liability for smart device cybersecurity, the intersection of AI and data protection law, and regulatory frameworks for digital technologies. His work has appeared in journals such as Computer Law & Security Review, Missouri Law Review, and the European Journal of Law and Technology, and he contributes regularly to public discourse through platforms including Lawfare, The Conversation, and RTE.

Iain’s recent research projects include UKRI-, British Academy-, and Innovate UK-funded initiatives exploring the integration of AI in professional services, cybersecurity regulation, and machine learning applications for risk profiling. He is also a frequent invited speaker on AI and cybersecurity law, having presented at international conferences in Washington DC, Geneva, Boston, and Oxford.
