I am from Algeria, and I chose Edge Hill University because of its strong academic reputation, supportive learning environment, and practical approach to teaching. The university offers a well structured programme that aligns with my background in computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence, and provides opportunities to develop both theoretical knowledge and real world skills. Edge Hill’s focus on employability, modern facilities, and student support services made it an attractive choice for continuing my studies in the UK.

I chose this course because it closely aligns with my academic background and long term career goals. With a strong foundation in computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence, I wanted a programme that would deepen my understanding of AI systems, data driven decision making, and practical applications. The course allows me to build on my previous studies and projects in machine learning and data analysis while developing advanced, industry relevant skills. It also supports my ambition to work in applied AI and contribute to innovative solutions that address real world problems.

My experience studying this course at Edge Hill University has been positive and rewarding. The course is well structured and balances theoretical concepts with practical application, which has helped me strengthen my understanding of artificial intelligence and data driven systems. Lecturers actively encourage participation and combine clear theoretical explanations with practical examples and coursework. This makes learning more engaging and helps build real world skills. The collaborative atmosphere motivates independent learning while ensuring students feel guided throughout the course.

The university provides strong wellbeing and student services, which made settling into life in the UK much easier. Career support has also been valuable. Access to employability resources and advice helped me better understand career pathways and how to apply my skills in a professional context. Attending career fairs helped me secure a part time job at Everton Football Club, which gave me confidence and real world experience alongside my studies.

The campus community at Edge Hill University is welcoming, diverse, and inclusive. Students come from many different backgrounds, creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere both academically and socially. This sense of community made it easy to settle in, build connections, and feel supported as an international student.
One of my favourite experiences has been spending time at the International Global Café. Making friends, playing games, and sharing experiences with students from different backgrounds created a strong sense of belonging. One highlight was teaching friends how to play a unique card game, changing the rules as I pleased and somehow winning every round. It turned into a really funny and memorable moment that everyone still laughs about.

Academically, my time at Edge Hill University has strengthened my knowledge and practical skills in artificial intelligence, data science, and problem solving. Personally, being part of such a diverse and supportive environment has made me more confident, independent, and positive. Overall, my experience has been even better than I expected.
