Biography

Mhairi joined Edgehill in September 2017 as a Lecturer in Physical Education and Children’s Physical Activity. Mhairi completed her undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science with Psychology (2002-2006) at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. She then work as Research Associate on several physical activity and health related projects for a number of years before undertaking a PhD in Exercise Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh. On completion of her PhD (2014), Mhairi worked as Teaching Fellow at the Dundee Academy of Sport, where she taught sport as a context for learning across the education system (Primary, Secondary, Further and Higher Education).

Research Interests

Mhairi’s research interests relate to youth physical activity and health, physical activity interventions and how they can be incorporated into the school day to increase physical activity levels of the youth population.
