Biography
Inorganic synthetic chemist with an interest in molecular electronics and coordination chemistry. My research focusses on the synthesis of inorganic or organometallic compounds and their assembly on surfaces for applications moleulcar electronics. I have a particular interest in thermoelectric materials which convert heat energy into electricity according to the seebeck effect.
Undergradute degree at the University of East Anglia.
PhD with Prof. Nathan Patmore at the University of Sheffield exploring electron transfer across hydrogen bonds.
PDRA at Durham Universtiy with Dr. James Walton on transition metal-facilitated C-H activation of arenes
PDRA at Imperial College London on the synthesis and electrochemical characterisation of molecular wires.
Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellowship at the University of York working on coupling porphyrin ligands to Mo2 paddlewheel complexes as models for studying electron transfer.
PDRA at University of Liverpool working on the C-H activation of alkylarenes and the ring-opening difunctionalisation of biphenylenes
