Donna started as a qualified nurse. Once she became a parent, she took on voluntary work and teaching assistant roles before pursuing a degree and obtaining qualified teacher status. Her passion is to enhance children’s education and well-being, supporting them to face challenges in life and developing their skills. This might be through mental health support interventions, along with developing their cognition and learning.
When Donna became an intervention teacher, she pursued training for an Every Child Counts (ECC) intervention at Edge Hill University. This experience opened doors for her to further enhance her knowledge of various ECC interventions, which she now uses to support children in her school. Donna’s skills were further developed when trained as a trainer for these interventions. Having a hands-on knowledge of implementing these interventions really helps her to support those she trains to help get the best outcomes for their children, too.
Within the school, she runs daily interventions and supports colleagues in implementing them effectively, ensuring positive outcomes for students with diverse needs. By continuously striving to expand my knowledge and skills, considering new interventions to enhance her role as an Intervention Teacher, she am able to keep up to date with new ideas.
