Obscura – A Double Bill by Company Chameleon

A bold and original double-bill from Manchester’s Company Chameleon, Obscura dances between light and darkness, exploring the hidden corners of self and society.

A powerful and nuanced trio, delicate and explosive in equal measure, Umbra, spotlights exclusion and the search for understanding and to be understood.

Refuse follows five performers on a perilous journey in search of refuge. Inspired by Géricault’s iconic painting The Raft of the Medusa, this visceral work exposes the harsh realities faced by asylum seekers and displaced people today.

Presented together in Obscura, the performances showcase Chameleon’s gift for creating socially relevant, thought-provoking and visually captivating dance performance. This is dance that will move you, stir you and leave you reflecting after the final step.
