The Climate Action Plan (2025–2031) is Edge Hill University’s strategic framework for addressing the climate emergency and embedding sustainability across all aspects of institutional operations, education, and community engagement.

It sets out the University’s vision to become a climate-resilient, low-carbon institution and outlines key objectives such as achieving Net Zero by 2035, reducing emissions, enhancing biodiversity, and integrating climate education into teaching and research.
The plan includes detailed sections on governance, carbon management, sustainable operations, climate adaptation and resilience, biodiversity, education for sustainable development, and stakeholder engagement. It also specifies monitoring and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability.
