An Introduction to Dyslexia is a one-hour online course designed to build a clear and practical understanding of dyslexia. Led by Kate Sutton, Edge Hill University’s experienced Course Lead for Dyslexia.
This session offers expert insight into a condition that affects approximately 1 in 10 individuals—many of whom remain undiagnosed and unsupported. Kate will be available for any questions for 30 minutes after the session.
The course explores the updated 2025 definition of dyslexia, highlights key signs educators should watch for, and presents effective strategies to support children and young people with this learning difference. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of both the challenges and unique strengths associated with dyslexia, and how these can shape a child’s educational and personal journey.
Ideal for teachers, support staff, and parents, this course provides the essential knowledge and tools to help dyslexic learners thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.
