As a Media student at Edge Hill you can expect to study in high quality learning environments that house state-of-the-art resources. The Media department is located on our contemporary Western Campus in the Creative Media and Information Systems Technology (CMIST) building. Here you will have full access to MAC studios with audio and video editing, the chance work with the latest digital media design software and be able to take full advantage of our fully equipped television studio, digital dark room and animation studio.
Our extensive range of production and editing facilities are a significant asset to the Media department. We have a variety of formats available including DV & HD including tapeless based systems. There is also a wide range of editing and postproduction facilities in a number of studios.
We stock all current industry standard media software including: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Maya, Toon Boom, Stop Motion Pro, Final Cut Studio, Quark Xpress and Pro Tools.
On top of this our Learning Innovation Centre (LINC) houses a bi-media newsroom including sound studio and radio studios with post-production facilities to help you gain hands on media experience and develop your skills. We also offer a fully operational TV studio with control room, sound booth, live graphics and blue/green screens. The LINC also contains 200 computers with 24/7 access for students so you can be sure that you are able to work on assignments, check emails or surf the web any time of day.
