Events
The Centre for Local Policy Studies runs a series of regular high profile events, including the Jesse Jackson Lecture series since 2008 and the Public Realm Lecture series commencing in May 2011.
Members of the Centre deliver regular research and knowledge transfer seminars and engage with national research bodies such as ARVAC. The Centre also organises and co-convenes a number of conferences in collaboration with external organisations, as well as managing research networks for Regeneration Management and Equality and Diversity Research.
The Centre's highly popular annual Summer School brings students, academics and the public, private and third sectors together to engage and equip participants to explore, understand and find practical solutions to various governmental policy issues.

Jesse Jackson Lecture Series - a lecture series, launched by the American Civil Rights leader himself, which serves to set out an agenda for the development of economic and labour rights as a precondition for the fulfillment of civil rights;
Public Realm Lecture Series - a major new series of open lectures on the Public Realm in the Big Society exploring how the existence of a Public Realm may be seen as the expression of a common 'good' and as the basis of a shared relationship between citizens;
Summer School - our 2-day annual Summer School in June 2011 takes place in Blackburn. The event features a series of keynote presentations, practical seminars and discussion forums examining 'The Big Society, Community Activism and Equality';
