Probe Dance Company present May at the Rose Theatre. A tale of a passionate relationship between two misfits whose coming together is both fairy tale and gritty realism.
Tickets £9.00 / £7.00 concessions
May is the critically acclaimed and daring work of dance theatre from Antonia Grove's award-winning company Probe written by Tim Crouch and directed by Pete Shenton.
Told through a montage of dance, words and music, May is a tale of a passionate relationship between two misfits whose coming together brings them both close to destruction. Their mental unravelling pitches gritty realism against beguiling fairy tale, with comic interludes framing the piece in the here and now. Performed by the inimitable Grove whose career credits read like a who's who of British performance, accompanied by Place-Prize winner Ben Duke (Lost Dog) and musician Scott Smith, May also delivers some of Probe's most exciting duet work to date.
"So sexy that it should have come with a health warning'" - ballet.co.uk
"‘Recommended, especially for anyone interested in boundary-blurring dance-theatre pinned to new writing" - The Times
There is a talkback session with the dancers after the performance.
