Induction Week 2023

The majority of our new undergraduate students start their Induction Week with us on Monday 25 September 2023. Below is some key information from Student Services to help you give them a warm welcome.

New students living on campus will move in across Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. The weekend has been carefully planned to manage the flow of students and their families and give each new resident our full support and attention. They will arrive during an allocated time-slot to ensure they arrive alongside their new flatmates and neighbours.

There is plenty for students to get involved with including a Student Life Fair 10am – 5pm and entertainment on the piazza to make it an enjoyable occasion.

New International Students living on campus will move in on either 18th or 19th  September. International orientation is on Wednesday 20 September to Friday 22 September to allow any international students time to settle into their accommodation before Welcome Weekend. For more information, please contact Kay Spears or Nicola Cobham.

If you have any queries about the event please contact the Welcome Weekend team.

Online Enrolment is in two stages. Stage one is undertaken pre-arrival and involves students uploading their Unicard photograph, providing identification and signing up to the University’s terms and conditions. Stage two is confirmation of attendance on campus, using an EHU networked PC or the Eduroam network, and must be completed for students to access their course area on Blackboard. Completion of stage two also triggers the release of student loans. Student guidance is available on the Enrolment webpages and a staff guide is included in your pack.

Non-residential students who have successfully completed stage one of enrolment on or before Thursday 21 September will receive their Unicards within their induction session, as noted within their induction timetables. Enrolment will ensure that Unicards are delivered to the designated rooms in time for the start of this session. Any students who enrol after this deadline can collect their cards from a pop-up stand situated outside the Student Administration building.

First-year undergraduate students will have received a Welcome Box over the summer. Students who accepted their offer late may not have received this and can collect one from the Student Administration helpdesk. All new students will receive a free purple EHU lanyard with their Unicard. There will be a limited number available from the induction helpdesk if any new student loses theirs.

Welcome events

Campus Connections on Tuesday 26 September is an afternoon dedicated to finding shared interests, making friends and helping new students feel part of the EHU community. Sessions will be running at 1.30pm – 2.45pm and 3.00pm – 4.15pm. Sessions will run alongside lunch, drinks, music and games at the piazza between 12- 1.30pm. More information is available on the Campus Connections webpage.

Welcome Back week commences 2 October, coinciding with the start of many of our PGT students. A Welcome Back Fair will take place in the Hub on Wednesday 4 October. A range of supportive communications are being sent to returning students highlighting the Welcome Back Survey, wellbeing resources and events and activities.
