If you are interested in research degrees, we would recommend speaking to our Graduate School. However, you may also like to visit the chatrooms for the taught courses within your subject area to find out more about research within the department.

What happens when I join a chatroom?

Our drop-ins with academic experts are designed to be as flexible as possible. You can join and leave our virtual chatrooms as you please anytime between 4pm and 6pm for informal conversations with academic tutors. You may therefore find that others are already in the chatroom when you join, or that others join during your conversation, providing the chance to hear answers to frequently asked questions that others may have.

• We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser for the smoothest experience.
• You will be able turn on your microphone and camera. Simply click on the icons at the bottom of the screen when you enter the room to enable these.
• If you prefer, you can keep your camera and microphone turned off and chat by typing your questions into the chat function instead. Once in the room, click on the purple tab on the bottom right to expand the panel and click on the speech bubble.
