Paramedic Practice
Undergraduate subject
Paramedic Practice is one of the fastest developing health professions. Studying our course approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and delivered primarily at our St James’ site in Manchester, you’ll prepare for roles within the ambulance service, urgent care centres, GP clinics and other health and social care settings.
Learn from registered paramedics and a range of specialists. Practise in our ambulance simulator. Solve problems in our 3D immersive simulation suite. Then apply everything you’ve learnt to practice – you’ll spend half of your time on the frontline with ambulance crews and other healthcare teams.
On this page you’ll find course presentations from our Paramedic Practice academics, 360 tours of our facilities, videos and features to give you an insight into what it’s like to study Paramedic Practice at Edge Hill. The presentations and videos are available to watch on demand at any time.

Facilities
Paramedic practice is delivered primarily at St James’ in central Manchester, while our Nurse Paramedic programme is split between St James’ and Edge Hill University.
St James’ provides an extensive modern clinical simulation suite, including a mock operating theatre, ambulance simulator and clinical skills stations. A 3D immersive simulation suite enables you to practice clinical scenarios in a realistic, supportive and safe environment.
The clinical skills facilities at Edge Hill University include ward simulations and operating theatres with industry-standard equipment, as well as mannequins that can simulate a wide range of symptoms, from pregnancy to a high temperature.
