Operating Department Practice and Paramedic Practice Drop-In Sessions

Prospective students and their family members take a tour of the clinical skills facilities during an open day.If you are interested in joining our pre-registration programmes in Operating Department Practice or Paramedic Practice at our Manchester city centre location, our drop-in sessions at St James’ in Manchester are for you.

The drop-in sessions provide an opportunity for you and your family to visit our Oxford Street site and find out more about training to work as an operating department practitioner (ODP) or paramedic.

At each drop-in session, you will be able to talk to tutors, chat to current students, and take a tour of the clinical skills simulation suite.

Guided tours will take place after each talk. Our impressive facilities in Manchester include a mock operating theatre, simulated ambulance bay and clinical skills stations.

By joining our BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice degree you will train to provide high standards of care during the anaesthetic, surgical and recovery phases of hospital patients’ treatment.

Enrolling on our BSc (Hons) Paramedic Practice degree will enable you to study to the clinical, professional and academic standards required to become a paramedic.

Paramedic Practice is available to study at St James’, with attendance for a variety of sessions also required at the Edge Hill University campus in Ormskirk. You can apply to study Operating Department Practice at the Edge Hill University campus or St James’. Both courses also involve placements across Greater Manchester and the North West of England. We will endeavour, where possible, to place you in a Trust near to where you live.
