Sociology

Overview

Sociology

The study of sociology enables you to immerse yourself in the study of society and human behaviour. It examines how individuals are shaped by the social, economic, political and cultural forces around them.

On our Sociology degrees you will expand your sociological imagination and study themes central to the development of contemporary societies, from armed conflict, political violence and terrorism to sexualities and desires. You will gain the skills required to become a critical independent thinker and have opportunities to broaden your horizons through work-based learning and field trips in the UK and Europe.

You can focus entirely on Sociology or study the subject in combination with Childhood and Youth Studies, Criminology, Early Childhood Studies, Education or Politics.
