Undergraduate Religion and Philosophy
Our education based courses with a focus on religion and philosophy are designed for anyone interested in exploring important questions about why people live in the way they do, and how concepts like faith, spirituality, ethics and race affect the public sphere.
You’ll explore practices as they’re lived in the 21st century and understand how religion and philosophy interface with society and culture as well as how this relates to education. When you graduate you’ll be able to show employers flexible thinking skills and understanding of diversity and ethics, as well as empathy, sensitivity, and heightened social awareness.
Please note that BA (Hons) Philosophy and BA (Hons) Religion are no longer available.
Learn from research-active lecturers who have published in areas such as the use of the Bible in society, LGBTQ+ experience, philosophy in the workplace, and the history of Islamic traditions.
Studying religion and philosophy opens up a range of careers, from working in the civil service to becoming a journalist to supporting a charity.
Joining us on field trips and in guest lectures, you’ll cover the major belief systems in Religion, while Philosophy students will be introduced to the subject, and how it interacts with subjects like film, gender and colonialism.
