Medicine

Overview

A doctor engages in discussion with colleagues. Our five-year MBChB Medicine undergraduate programme focuses on developing future doctors who have patient safety at the core of their practice and who are responsive to the diverse and complex needs of individuals and populations. The course leads to a Primary Medical Qualification, entitling student doctors to provisionally register with the General Medical Council.

Alongside this five-year course, the University is offering MBChB Medicine with Foundation Year. This six-year programme is aimed at candidates from non-traditional and under-represented groups across the North West of England. Upon achievement of the required pass mark for the Foundation Year, you will be eligible to progress onto the five-year MBChB Medicine degree.

Open Days and Virtual Events

A student guide talks to prospective students as she leads them on a campus tour, seen here on the piazza on the western side of campus. If you are considering studying at Edge Hill University, the best way we usually recommend to gain an insight into the student experience is to see our stunning campus for yourself by attending an open day.

Our August 2020 open day is going virtual. We will ensure that you can still discover everything that Edge Hill University has to offer and get answers to all of your questions. You will be able to find out more about medicine and the University through a series of online activities.

We are continuing to take bookings for subsequent open days while monitoring government advice regarding events. We will communicate all key information to anyone who books to attend.
