Undergraduate Law

To succeed in the legal world, you need to be resilient, confident and analytical. Have you got what it takes?

Join us at Edge Hill to develop your skills in our on-campus courtroom. Attend conferences and courts such as the Supreme Court and the Old Bailey in London. Learn from lecturers who have worked as barristers and solicitors at the likes of 18 St John Street Chambers and Addleshaw Goddard.

All of our courses are qualifying law degrees, so you’ll be ready to enter legal practice when you graduate. Our law graduates have secured positions like senior crown prosecutor for CPS, in-house solicitor at BAE Systems and barrister at 4 Kings Bench Walk Chambers.

Practise giving legal advice in our on-campus pro-bono law clinic and courtroom and discover why we’re 4th in the UK for learning resources (National Student Survey 2023 - Law).

97.5% of our Law students are employed or in further study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes data released 2023 from 2020/21 graduates).

Enhance your employability by undertaking work experience and attending networking events with employers and our Law Alumni Association - our community of Edge Hill Law graduates.

The part of being an Edge Hill Law student that has surprised me is the amount of opportunities there are to get hands-on experience.

You feel like the lecturers are not just there to deliver a degree, and you’re not just there to get one. There’s so much more to being at Edge Hill than that.

Facilities

The £6m Law and Psychology building provides contemporary teaching and learning facilities for students in the School of Law, Criminology and Policing.

The three-storey building includes a 250-seat lecture theatre, seminar and tutorial rooms, and social learning areas which encourage a more informal and interactive style of learning.

Elsewhere on campus, there is a mooting room (a mock courtroom) where Policing and Law students can train and practice their advocacy skills and cross-examination techniques, as well as preparing for giving evidence in court.

The EHU Police Training and Simulation Facility, part of which is furbished as a police station, is used to simulate a wide range of crime scenes. This will enable Law and Policing students to work together in areas such as gathering and analysing evidence, including forensic evidence at crime scenes, as well as practicing interview techniques used by the police through role play, while also ensuring that the rights of suspects are upheld.
