Private accommodation
You’ve found your first-choice university, now let’s find your second home.
We want your time at Edge Hill University to be as productive as possible and choosing where to live is a huge part of your university experience. Live where makes you happy. Whether that’s a house within easy walking distance of campus, a flat in Liverpool, or perhaps you’d prefer to live in nearby towns like Southport, Wigan or St Helens?
Access to our bustling campus community
Whichever off-campus location you choose, you will still be able to fully participate in university life. And, as part of our amazing student community, we think you’ll feel you belong here from day one. As an Edge Hill student, you’ll have access to great facilities like:
- films in the Studio Theatre
- drama, comedy, or live music performances at the Arts Centre
- a wide variety of Students’ Union events
- modern sport and leisure facilities
- outstanding study spaces
Plus, access to all the University’s support services. Whether you need IT and library resources, somewhere to grab a coffee, the launderette, or social areas to hang with friends. The only difference to our on-campus students is that you won’t be sleeping here.
Choosing where to live when at Edge Hill University
More than 1,000 Edge Hill students live in and love Ormskirk.
An historic Lancashire town full of character. Ormskirk shares Edge Hill’s community spirit. There’s something for everyone from farmers’ markets twice a week to independent shops, relaxed bars and great places to eat.
And the University is never far away. You can walk, cycle, or hop on the Edge Link shuttle bus and be at campus within minutes.
Another great thing about Ormskirk is the travel links to nearby areas. Whether you choose to live in Southport, Wigan or Liverpool there’s good public transport links that will get you on campus, on time.
A popular choice with our students – the centre of Liverpool is only 30 minutes away from Ormskirk on Merseyrail. Trains are every 15 minutes during the day and every half hour at evenings and on Sundays.
