Living on campus

Living on Edge Hill’s stunning campus, you’ll find your home from home. You’ll be right in the heart of our community in a safe environment where you can live, study and socialise.

What is living on campus like?

We have seen generations of students succeed through hard work, dedication, and the community and support available when living in our accommodation. Fully immerse yourself in university life. And choose to live in one of six areas across the beautiful Edge Hill campus.

To make your decision even easier, we’re guaranteeing you a place in our halls for Year 1 of your course. All new first year undergraduate students, from the UK and EU, starting full-time in September 2022 are eligible.

Living on campus is the best option for many students as it can open the door to amazing experiences that will shape who you are. From making forever friendships to gaining independence and confidence.

What do I need to take to university?

A big part of feeling prepared for your first year at university is knowing exactly what you need to bring. We provide the necessary starting blocks to a comfy university life. Just remember clothes, toiletries and personal touches are up to you.

What we provide:

  • A single bed and mattress
  • Built in wardrobe
  • A study desk and chair
  • Wireless internet service
  • Communal kitchen with all the essentials

Most rooms come with a flat screen which you can enable to watch Freeview TV. You can connect your gaming consoles to the wired network in Chancellors Court and Chancellors SouthFounders EastFounders WestPalatine Court and Woodland Court. The communal areas in these particular halls, plus Graduates Court, include a 32″ LCD Freeview TV with a TV licence provided by the University.

You might not know where to start when thinking about what you should bring to university. To guide you, we have put together a non-exhaustive list of items that you may not have thought about bringing. You may find they’re just as essential as the items you’ve already packed.
