Housing Week

During Housing Week, we run campaigns and events in partnership with our Students Union and Money Advice Team (Student Services). Our main events include our Househunting Workshops which we run prior to our annual Housing Fair during the autumn term. More information on these events are available on this webpage.

Househunting Workshops

Prior to our Housing Fair, we hold our house hunting workshops in partnership with the SU Advice Centre and Money Advice Team. They are free to attend and cover the key points using scenarios to clue you up for house hunting in the private sector. We cover:

  • Contracts & deposits
  • Tenancy Deposit Schemes
  • Budgeting advice
  • Things to know once you have moved in/moved out of a property

Workshop dates and booking details for 2018/19 will be published in due course. Follow Student Services on social media to keep up to date with the latest events.

Housing Fair

Our annual Housing Fair is held every December to coincide with the release of the off campus housing list for the next academic year. There is also a chance to speak to advisers about house hunting, enter competitions to win prizes and plenty of freebies!

Details of our next Housing Fair will be published in due course.

Check Your Contract Before You Sign

It is important to be aware that any contact you sign with a landlord is completely independent of Edge Hill University. Don’t feel pressured by a landlord to sign a contract and make sure you are happy with all the terms and conditions before you do sign.

The Students’ Union Advice Centre provides a contract checking service so if you are unsure about anything at all, you can book an appointment by clicking here.

You can get in touch with the team by emailing suadvice@edgehill.ac.uk

For more guidance on Contracts, Deposits & Rents in the private sector, please visit our Off Campus section.
