In July, Student Services said a fond farewell to our Methodist Chaplain Reverend Melvyn Kelly at a leaving party which was attended by staff and students from all areas of the University.
Melvyn was instrumental in the setting up of Edge Hill’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy and has worked tirelessly during his time at the University to support our students. He has worked particularly with our international students and has developed strong links with Edge Hill’s International Office, working in tandem with them to organise events such as the annual Thanksgiving dinner.
Melvyn has been a familiar face around the University, very often attending Open Days to meet prospective students, as well as organising events for current students such as Inter-Faith Week celebrations and the Christmas Carol Concert.
Melvyn’s hard work is all the more impressive given the fact that he has given his time voluntarily to the University. Everyone in Student Services, as well as the wider Edge Hill community, will be sorry to see Melvyn go, but we know that he will carry on his fantastic work as Chaplain of the Leeds Universities. Best of luck Melvyn!
