If you’re on campus (or not!) at the moment – look out for our exciting range of in- person and virtual activities, events and offers taking place over the next few weeks.
Whether sport’s your thing, you want to learn a new skill, pick up a burger from our barbecue, have competitive fun with your friends or just treat yourself to a free ice cream – there’s plenty of ways to get involved!
We’ve brought together a full programme with something going on most days of the week – some you need to book in advance and some you just turn up to.
Here’s all the details you need to know for this week:
Monday 17 May
Abs, Core and More, 7.15 – 8.00am, Dance Studio
These classes are an intensive session of core-blasting direct ab work to help flatten, tone and develop your abdominal muscles.
Lean Lifting, 12.10 – 12.50pm, Dance Studio
Dedicated to enhancing the use of weight lifting technique to improve strength and tone the whole body.

Creative Writing Workshop, 4.00 – 5.00pm, Zoom
Writing can be a great way to get creative and de-stress. It can encourage people to write and discuss feelings, or to explore creativity in a way they may not have done so before. Are you new to writing, or someone who has always wanted to try it but never had the chance to? Check out this introductory session to Creative Writing!

Running Club, 5.30 – 6.30pm, Track
All abilities welcome at this group running session.

Spin (Party), 6.30 – 7.25pm, Dance Studio
Spinning focuses on endurance, and strength at a high intensity. Spin (Party) is an energetic class to get you moving and using those muscles!
Circuits, 7.00 – 8.00pm, Sports Hall
A combination of high intensity cardio and resistance exercise which allows you to work at your own personal level to achieve your fitness goals.
Total Tone, 7.40 – 8.25pm, Dance Studio
Total tone involves completing reps using a choice of weights and is designed to help strengthen and tone your muscles.
Tuesday 18 May

KettleFit, 7.15 – 7.50am, Dance Studio
Join our dynamic kettlebell based class – a combination of high intensity toning and cardiovascular exercise to provide a complete body workout.

The Garden Games, 12.00 – 2.00pm, Boulevard
Join the Edge Hill Sport team for Croquet, Boules, Giant Chess, Giant Connect 4, Swingball or Badminton in maximum groups of 6. A perfect way to ditch the exam stress and take care of your wellbeing.
Begin to Spin, 12.10 – 12.50pm, Dance Studio
Spinning focuses on endurance, and strength at a high intensity. Begin to spin is an introduction to spinning and high intensity training.

Yoga, 3.00 – 4.00pm, Dance Studio
Yoga focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost your physical and mental wellbeing.
Spin (Party), 5.15 – 6.00pm, Dance Studio
Spinning focuses on endurance, and strength at a high intensity. Spin (Party) is an energetic class to get you moving and using those muscles!
Legs, Bums and Tums, 6.15 – 7.15pm, Dance Studio
Legs, bums and tums is a full body aerobic workout that aims to tone up your thighs, bum and stomach in this fun, focused class.
Step, 7.30 – 8.30pm, Dance Studio
Step class will have you up, around, and down from a platform in different patterns to boost your heart rate and breathing, and strengthen your muscles.
Zumba, 8.45 – 9.30pm, Dance Studio
Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training alternating fast and slow rhythms to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

In this initial session, we will explain what our graduate support offer includes, how to make the most of the support available from Careers PLUS the option to stay for a CV session – how to create a CV that employers want to read!

Summer Job Top Tips, 3.00 – 4.00pm, Online
Kath, one of our Employment Advisers, will be running this Q&A and will give you some top tips on where to find suitable jobs in our area but will also give out useful websites for around the country. Feel free to drop in and out any time during the hour to ask your questions.
Approaching Employers, 5.00 – 5.30pm, Online
During this session, one of our Employment Advisers, will give you some top tips on how to find your own work experience, useful websites and how to approach or contact employers. They will also talk about writing a cover letter (or email) and will give some tips on what to put in your CV.
Campus Scavenger Challenge, All Day, Campus-Wide
Love campus? Love a good photo challenge? Then this is the day for you! Head to campus any time on Wednesday 19 May to take part in our scavenger challenge. Find the starting point on the grass outside the SU opposite the hub for your very first clue.

Konga is an easy-to-follow, mood-elevating, high intensity fusion of Boxing, Cardio, Dance and Sculpting set to great beats.

Campus Catch-Up!
To celebrate the easing of restrictions this week, we have a special catch-up event.
Join us on campus this Thursday 20 May, between 11.30am and 2.30pm, and take a stroll down the Boulevard and along to the Arts Centre, to get involved or simply savour the atmosphere. There’s loads going on including a free barbecue, and a special showing of the Greatest Showman at our outdoor cinema.
