We’re looking forward to having you back and helping you plan for a successful 2020
2020 is the beginning of a new decade and it’s a brilliant time to start planning your future, to think about where you want to be and how we can help you get there. We have a wide range of opportunities, services and support to help you get ahead on your return to campus.
Develop your academic skills
Develop your academic skills and confidence for University and beyond with Uniskills workshops, drop-in support and 1-1 appointments whatever campus you’re studying at. Our experienced advisers can help you to develop your academic skills and strategies throughout your time at Edge Hill. Face to face support is available on a wide range of topics including academic reading, writing and referencing, finding information and preparing your assignment for submission.
Resources for courses
Make the most of all the services, facilities, learning spaces and resources available to you in Catalyst, home to Learning Services, Careers and Student Services. You can find out more by taking a student led tour, no booking required – tours leave from the ground floor of Catalyst every half hour between 12pm and 4pm, Monday 6th to Friday 10th January.
Unable to make it? Why not take a virtual tour at a time that works for you.
Your voice counts
We’re always keen to know what we do well and where we can be better. Help us make your time at Edge Hill the best it can be by giving feedback across the academic year. We’re committed to learning from you and your experiences, so this New Year take the opportunity to complete the Student Voice (Pulse) Survey, sign up for the Student Sounding Boards or have a chat with your course rep. Remember, your voice counts.
Looking after your wellbeing
Thinking about your future?
Being at University is about so much more than studying – good health and wellbeing is key to thriving during your time here. We have a range of support in place to help you take care of yourself, organise your budget and support you when things aren’t going as expected. Money advice, wellbeing workshops, and regular GP clinics are just a few of the services offered.
The University has also invested in Big White Wall – an anonymous online peer support network moderated and run by professionals. Visit bigwhitewall.com for instant support and guidance 24/7. All you need to access the service is your EHU email address and an internet connection. Remember, you’re not alone.
Your Students’ Union has a brand new programme of events and activities starting in the New Year. Check out their Give it a Go guide and don’t forget the EHSU Welcome Fair taking place on Wednesday 22nd January, 10am-2pm in The Venue and Old Gym – discover new opportunities, sign up to societies and sports teams and have a chat with the SU team.
Giving you an advantage
We want to help you take on fresh challenges, meet new people and build your confidence by developing new skills and experience and getting involved with all the opportunities that exist away from your timetable.
