PGCE Primary English Education with QTS

I have now secured my first full-time teaching post at a school that has been recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted.

“After completing my degree I decided to study a PGCE because I feel that primary school teaching is the greatest career there is. Not only are you able to have a positive influence on the future of children, you can also help them to develop a lifelong love for learning.

Two things have really stood out for me during my course at Edge Hill. The first is the amount of support you receive from everyone throughout the University, especially the tutors who go out of their way to make themselves available and give you advice and guidance whenever you may need it.

Secondly, the work placements we undertake really do help you to develop professionally. I completed teaching practice in two very different schools, one being within an early years setting and the other working with children who have special educational needs.

I believe the best way to learn anything in life is by doing it, so these placements have been invaluable. They provided me with the hands-on experience necessary to put everything I learnt into practice, as well as the opportunity to refine my skills in the classroom.

Thanks to this course I have now secured my first full-time teaching post at a school that has been recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted. I am now really looking forward to completing my Newly Qualified Teacher year.”
