BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health)

There’s no doubt that nursing is hard work, but it is definitely worth it!

“I was attracted to Edge Hill because it offered a nursing course that focuses on mental health and provided me the opportunity to undertake a placement in a child and adolescent mental health setting.

The lectures have been of high quality and the placements have certainly lived up to my expectations – there is no doubt that they really help to put the theory you learn into practice. I’ve had some amazing experiences, but I have also learnt so much from them too.

To gain some first-hand skills and help me secure a job once I graduate I work some shifts as a nursing assistant. I am also employed by Edge Hill as a student guide and work on projects where I visit secondary school pupils and further education students visit to encourage them to continue their studies to university.

If I was to offer any advice to those thinking of going to university, I’d say make sure you get the right work and social balance. There’s no doubt that nursing is hard work, but it is definitely worth it!”
