My course has given me all that it said it would and everything we do is relevant. At the moment I’m spending lots of time in schools gaining valuable experience for the future as well as volunteering as a Community Sports Coach.
“Edge Hill University has proved to be a great choice for me and I’ve found it to be a really good place to study with excellent facilities and approachable staff.
My course has given me all that it said it would and everything we do is relevant. At the moment I’m spending lots of time in schools gaining valuable experience for the future as well as volunteering as a Community Sports Coach. I will also be heading off to America to coach football in the summer which I’m really looking forward to.
I play for the Edge Hill Tigers rugby league team and through this I’ve met some great lads and played alongside some top players. The game is played to a very high standard at Edge Hill and we recently appeared on TV in the British University and College Sport (BUCS) Super 8 competition.
Playing rugby league during my studies is really important to me and I’ve been signed by the Oldham Roughyeds to play in their Under-23s Reserve Team Championship which is really exciting. I had previously been selected to go on tour to Australia with BARLA Great Britain’s under-18s and when I returned was offered my first professional contract.
My rugby has also helped with a variety of elements of my course too, such as in the science module, where relating back to previous games can provide me with useful examples of my work in examining different types of movement.
I’m aiming to complete my degree to a first class standard and gain as much hands-on experience as possible. Once I graduate I want to study for a PGCE in secondary education and become a PE teacher.”
