I’m really excited to see what I can achieve over the rest of the programme.

“I once thought that having a degree would be enough to get me a good job in communications or PR, but I’ve come to realise that this isn’t the case and that I need a lot of practical experience. That’s why I joined the Agent Academy programme.

I’m really enjoying it and am finding conducting research especially fun. I didn’t do a dissertation as part of my degree, so it is really useful to be able to develop these skills here. Also, because we are planning and then doing the work ourselves there is a real sense of commitment to the project, which is exciting.

Entering a professional environment can be daunting, and even basic things like introducing yourself can be hard, but I’m much more relaxed about speaking in public now and my confidence has improved a lot.

I had my first proper interview to get onto this programme and, although it was difficult, it was also a really useful experience.

I’m finding that I enjoy and am good at group working, which is very productive here as everyone is ready and willing to contribute. We are quite a diverse group and all bring something to the table. Overall, I’m much more confident in my ability to contribute to the project and I’m really excited to see what I can achieve over the rest of the programme.

I recently attended a graduate employment session where I was pretty much the only person without the relevant degree. However, I was also the only one undertaking some practical experience so I stood out. This programme is a good way to enhance your CV and to get into the marketing industry, whatever degree you have done.”
