This is a demanding course but it is very rewarding. If you go into it having done the reading and knowing what your plan is going to be, then you’ll genuinely find it is so much fun.

“I loved my undergraduate degree at Edge Hill and continuity was a massive part of my decision to study here again, but it was the course itself that really made up my mind.

I wanted the challenge of making my own performance and I have experienced exactly that. The MA is more intense than studying at undergraduate level and became a personal journey for me, one I would definitely recommend.

Whatever route you choose to take with your performance you get the support you need in that area. Senior members of staff are very experienced in their fields and it was so nice to be able to sit with them and have an in depth conversation. It’s a very optimistic, friendly department with a real sense of unity. Everyone is seen as equals.

That sense of unity extended to the student cohort. We had to produce personal workshops that were then critiqued by the other students. This was done in the best way possible as we were genuinely there to help each other. It was the same for our final performances. I presented my own, performed in two others, and found that everyone was very hands-on and supportive, making sure we all pulled through. It was a lovely experience.

I’m currently working with two other students from my cohort in a company that has grown from one of our initial projects. We have some very exciting things in store for the year ahead! The course has given us the skills and contacts to move into a professional context, while also allowing me to apply for jobs I couldn’t have considered before.

This is a demanding course but it is very rewarding. If you go into it having done the reading and knowing what your plan is going to be, then you’ll genuinely find it is so much fun.”
