“I joined Edge Hill’s Children’s Nursing degree because the University has a very good reputation and provides excellent placement opportunities and the chance to specialise in a variety of subject areas.

There’s no doubt that coming to university is a major decision and a once in a lifetime opportunity, so it’s vital that you get it right.

By visiting all the places you are interested in, speaking to people who have already been through the process and seeking the advice of people employed in your chosen career area, you should end up at the university and on the course you really want.

My research paid off and I’m thoroughly enjoying my time at Edge Hill. The placements have been really valuable and helped me to develop my skills and I loved living with the other nursing students in halls last year so much that I continue to share a place with some of them now. Also being based in Ormskirk is great, you can walk everywhere and it is so close to Liverpool too!

Because I was keen to find out as much as I could before choosing my university I wanted to help others in the same position and so became a student blogger. I find it’s good to be able to share my course experiences, to let future applicants know a little bit more about what nursing really involves and to voice my opinions generally about student life.”
