I liked the fact that the course at Edge Hill is accredited by the British Psychological Society and everyone I spoke to at the open day gave very positive feedback.
“Edge Hill University has a beautiful campus with everything on one site, so it’s all really accessible. As the University constantly invests in facilities it means students are always benefitting too.
I chose to study psychology as I really enjoyed the subject at A Level and felt there would be a lot of career options open to me if I continued onto a degree. I liked the fact that the course at Edge Hill is accredited by the British Psychological Society and everyone I spoke to at the open day gave very positive feedback.
The best thing about studying psychology is the variety of different areas we cover and the ways in which we are taught and assessed. This includes seminars, group tasks, lab reports, essays, reviews, poster presentations and dissertations, which means there’s something for everyone and students feel engaged with the course.
Overall the syllabus is great and the tutors do all they can to help students manage their workloads. Support from areas outside of the department is also excellent, such as the essay writing sessions that are available and the careers service that can help develop your employability skills and assist you in finding a job, placement or volunteering role.
I’ve recently studied the Educational Psychology module which has now inspired me to pursue a primary PGCE course when I graduate. It’s something I’d considered for a while, but now I know it’s definitely what I want to do.”
