James Hubbard

BSc (Hons) Computing

I decided to become a student blogger to help develop my communication skills with others, to interact with those thinking about coming to Edge Hill and to represent the university.”

“The content of the computing degree at Edge Hill University was a big factor in my choice of where to study. I wanted a course that would cover a wide range of modules and give me a broad experience, and that’s exactly what I got.

The course has been great in helping me gain knowledge within my subject area, and I am really enjoying life on campus too. At first I was worried about looking after myself, but everything here is contained on one campus so you can access everything you need within minutes of your room. The Students’ Union and Quad are great fun, and I love being able to go and see all of my friends really easily.

I decided to become a student blogger to help develop my communication skills with others, to interact with those thinking about coming to Edge Hill and to represent the university. I feel that it’s really important for current students to communicate with prospective students and give our views of the university alongside the information that is given by the tutors.

Usually, I talk about my time here at university and try to relate everything back to my own personal experiences, which I think offers a really personal view of life on campus.

Once I graduate I would like to either progress onto a PGCE an train to become a teacher of information technology in a secondary school, or enter the computing industry to gain some experience and progress my career in that direction.”
