“I know that both the practical and religious sides of this course will help me in my aim of becoming an inspirational teacher.”
“I was working in Taiwan when I decided that I wanted to become a teacher, and of all the universities I emailed asking for a Skype interview only Edge Hill replied positively. My correspondence with the course leaders was really friendly and they were open to me going directly into Year 2 given my previous experience. Also, Ormskirk looked a nice town, so my decision to come here was easy.
I have travelled abroad a lot and am really intrigued by religion. It is increasingly important in the world and everyone has an opinion. I knew I could be passionate about the subject, so my course choice was simple.
Both my course and the University have exceeded my expectations. I had previously done a drama degree elsewhere so knew student life, but had never experienced an open-door policy with tutors before. Communications in the department are really good and you always get a quick reply.
Feedback on my assignments has been invaluable, as has the support I have had for my dyslexia. In fact, everyone here is geared up to help you succeed, from the staff at the ASK desk in the library, to the students in my class whose openness makes you feel you can confidently express yourself.
The time on placement has been my favourite aspect of the course. It is only when you walk into a classroom that you find out if the strategies you learnt on your course will work. I definitely learnt a lot. I am more confident, and I know that both the practical and religious sides of this course will help me in my aim of becoming an inspirational teacher.”
